“Asher’s food will be rich, and he will provide delicacies fit for a king.” GENESIS 49:20
Moses said of the tribe of Asher in Deuteronomy 33:24–25 that their feet would be “bathed in oil.” Oil soaked feet speak of walking in the anointing and richness of the Holy Spirit.
This is the lifestyle God invites you to enjoy. This is His oil of gladness.
As you step into the presence of your Father today, the fragrant oil of divine love bathe each step. He offers to anoint you with the oil of gladness in place of sorrow. To pour the warmth of his healing love over every wound. To bind your longing heart to his with the golden glory that streamed from a bloody cross. His presence is saturating you today. Dripping from you, everywhere you go. You are his. He is yours.
And wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart. Psalm 105:15
Prayer:
Father, smother every part of me—spirit, soul, and body—with the blessing of your Spirit.
Lord, please send joy in the morning as your Word promises i the places my heart aches in sadness. I trust in your unfailing love and the hope of new beginnings, but help me recognize the small glimmers of light amid this hour of sorrow.
I am reminded in seasons of overwhelming loss, there are moments of peace amidst the pain for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Help me to be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Awaken my senses to the nearness of your holy presence to comfort me and fill the vacancy in my heart with your tangible oil of gladness to enlighten me.
Guide my path to healing so that as the dawn breaks, I find joy once more. Let my heart be open to the beauty of life, and remember those who are no longer with us.
In the name of your boundless love and grace, I pray for oil that is bathed in strength and understanding when I come to drink eternally of the reality of your love. Amen.
